Returning Families
How do I register my student?
Please be sure you have an AISD Portal account. Visit portal.austinisd.org to create one or log in. Updating your contact information and parent permissions within the AISD Parent Portal -AISD STUDENT REGISTRATION tile is required EVERY year. What if I have a new address?
All returning students who have had a recent change of address must submit proof of residency to their campus for the 2023–24 school year. Please contact your child’s campus for more details.

How do I find my student’s home campus?
Visit www.austinisd.org/school-finder to see which is your child’s home campus.
What paperwork do I need?
Families registering students new to AISD will need to upload the following documents:
- Child’s birth certificate
- Child’s social security card (optional)
- Child’s immunization records
- Child’s withdrawal form/last report card (if applicable)
- Parent/Guardian photo ID
- Proof of guardianship (if applicable)
- Proof of residency

Pre-K Families

Families that are interested in Pre-K4 should follow the steps listed below:

PreK4 is an application based program. An approved application must be on file to enroll in PreK4.
Transfer Process for Pre-K
The Pre-K transfer process at AISD works differently than our K-12 transfer process.
- The window for all Pre-K transfers opens Monday, April 3rd 2023
- An online transfer application can be submitted at that time
- The Out of District transfer application can be accessed online through the portal
- Transfers will be processed once Pre-K eligibility has been verified in the order in which received.
